A Center of Excellence (CoE) in Blockchain Technology
This pioneering initiative is being established by the IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre (IIML EIC), in collaboration with Microsoft as the technology partner. The CoE aims to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and adoption of blockchain technology across industries.
Key Objectives
- To support startups focused on blockchain technology through mentorship, funding, and infrastructure.
- To boost digital transformation and innovation aligned with India’s “Make-in-India” and “Digital India” initiatives.
- To enable research and development in blockchain applications across sectors.
- To nurture a culture of entrepreneurship by empowering students, faculty, and innovators.
Infrastructure and Support
- World-class facilities: 10,000 sq. ft. space to house 100 startups over 5 years, with high-speed internet, coworking spaces, and access to advanced AI/ML, IoT, and 3D printing labs.
- Technological access: Supercomputing capabilities and exclusive resources from Microsoft, such as Azure support and training content.
- Funding: Seed fund support of ₹75 lakh for startups, in addition to access to angel networks and venture capital firms.
- Mentorship: Guidance from IIML faculty, alumni, industry experts, and Microsoft’s global network of mentors.

- Startup Creation: Targeting the creation of 100 blockchain-based startups over 5 years.
- Capacity Building: Conducting 25 training programs for students, faculty, and startups.
