Trashfix is a waste management and sustainability-related startup that works on bridging the gap between Waste collectors and Recyclers by creating a Humane, Scalable, Efficient and Sustainable model. We aim to create traceability in the entire value chain that would lead to a direct impact in our Waste management process and help us achieve India’s climate targets. We are creating a decentralized model for waste segregation. Currently most of the secondary waste segregation is done on a manual level by the unorganized sector which increases costs, limits yield, is inhumane and unsustainable. At Trashfix, we are working on a decentralized Waste segregation model which implements semi-automatic process which gives higher yield, lowers costs, and strengthens supply chain and compliances. By transitioning into this process using computer vision and machine learning we are on our journey to help bringing traceability to the entire value chain in the future. We aim to divert 10 lakh tons of PET by 2030. How we do it? 1. We are implementing Robust SOPs, in contrast to traditional ragpickers, hence are able to run an optimised MRF with high output. 2. Using Technology at both Software and Hardware levels to bring about optimization, data generation for new revenue streams and higher productivity and output. Our Computer Vision and Machine learning implementation in the semi-automatic process would help us achieve this along with lean supply chain management processes. We aim to create traceability in this space. 3. Hub and Spoke Model- A decentralized model works best with a robust supply chain, shared fixed costs and resources.
